Author Guidelines

Timorese Journal of Social & Business Research (TJSBR)  is an interdicipliner journal that publishes original works, including unpublisshed text resulting from field or bibliographic research, eiher through open ssubmission or call for thematic dossiers, under a continuous publication system.

The journla prioritizes the publication of scientific research articles or theorical discussions from an interdisciplinary perspective related to Human developmetn, History, Geography, Sociology, Antropology, Social Work, Psychology, education, Health, Law, Communication, Economics, Management and Accounting.

 

All authors of articles accepted for publication are requeired to provide their registration number with ORCID  (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). Authors’ names, affiliations, aand institutional information must not appear in the manuscript text; this information mus be submitted only through the journal’s submission sysstem.

Submission of manuscripts to the journal implies the authors’ full acceptance of the guidelines and rules set forth herein.

1. Evaluartion Criteria for Submitted Text:

  • All manuscripts, in every category, must be submitted electronically, in 1.5 line spacing;
  • Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word for Windows, Times New Roman font, size 12, normal style; with 2 cm margins. Pages must be consecutively numbered, in accordance with the length requirements established for each categoru of submission;
  • A title page must be submitted separately as a suplementary document, including the title of the work, author9s) name9s), institutional affiliation(s), contact address, and a short academic biografy (maximum 50 words), indicating the year and institution of undergraduate’s, master’s and/or doctoral degree(s);
  • The submitted text must be anonymized, containg no identifying information the author)s) to be ensure blind peer review;

2.    Publication Frequence for Authors. Each author may publish only two article at a time.

3.    All authors involved in the work must be included at the time of submission.

4.    Manuscrips may include a maximum of fout authors.

 

NOTES:

1. Categories of articles eligible for submission to the  TJSBR:

a) Scientific Articles: between 12 and 15 pages (including abstracts, acknowledgments, references, figures, chart and tables);

Articles resulting from research involving human or animal subjects must include, at the time of submission, a copy of the approval issued by the Ethics Committee.

2. The article must be original and structured as follows:

2.1. Title of the Manuscript: The title must be concise and objective, containing the keywords that best represent the content of the text.

2.2. Abstract: must be including abstract between 150-200 words, typed in sigle spacing. The aabstract should present the study’s objective, methodology, theorical framework, discussion, and conclusion. At the and of the abstract, in the following line, 3 or 5 keywords must be provided, separated by semicolons (;).

2.3.  Main Text Elements:

·         Introduction: The opening section, including the delimitation of the topic, justification, theorical-methodological perspective, and objectives.

·         Development: Contains a detailed and structured exposition of the subject. Sections and subsections may be used for better organization, sucg as Methods, Results, and Discussion.

·         Conclusion or Final Considerations: The final section, presentinf conclusion directly relaated to the study objerctives. Citation are not recommended in this section, as it is intended for the author’s own synthesis.

  • References: A xomplete list of works consulted and cited in the text. Sources of illustration must also be included here.

 

2.4. Acknowledgment and Authors contributions: any acknowledgment or statements of individual authors contribution or funding agencies should appear at the and of the article in brief form.

2.5. Glossary, appendices, notes and attachments: Shoul be included only when strictly necessary.The editorial Committee will determine their relevance for publication.

2.6. Graphic Materials: clear photographs and essential figures may be accepted. These must be inserted within the text and also submitted as supplementary documents. The source or reproduction permission must be indicated.

2.7. Char and Tables: Charts and tables must include headings that allow for full understanding without redundant references in the text. Their order of appearance should be clearly indicated in the manuscript.
The words
 Table and Chart must be capitalized and followed by their respective numbers (e.g., Chart 1, Table 2).

2.8. Citatio: All citations must follow the APA 7th edition author-date citation system.

2.9. References: References must conform to the APA 7th edition guidelines and be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the article. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all references cited in the manuscript.

2.10. Use of Italics: should be used only for foreign words and scientific names, consisting of the genus and specific epithet, both in italics.

 

3. Manuscript Formatting

·         Page size and margins: The text must be formatted on A4 paper, with 2 cm margins.

·         Font: Times New Roman, size 12.

·         Pagination: Pages must be numbered in the upper right-hand corner, starting from the first page.

·         Section titles: Centered, bold, with only the first letter capitalized. Identified with simple numbering (1, 2, 3...) and without a final period.

·         Subtitles: Left-aligned, bold, with only the first letter capitalized. Identified with hierarchical numbering (1.1; 1.1.1...) and without a final period.

·         Other subdivisions: A maximum of three levels of subheadings is recommended. However, if necessary, numbers and letters may be used (e.g., 1.1.1.a).

·         Body text: All paragraphs must be left-aligned (not justified).

·         Line spacing: 1,5 spacing must be used throughout the manuscript.

·         Paragraph indentation: The first line of each paragraph must be indented 1.25 cm (Tab = 1.25 cm).

·         Hyperlinks: All URLs included in the text must be active and should directly link to the cited documen.

·         Underlining, italics, and bold: Avoid underlining. Use italics for foreign words or expressions (e.g., link, on-line, locus) and bold for emphasis.

·         Latin abbreviations: Use Latin abbreviations only within parentheses. In running text, provide the English translation of such terms: cf. = compare; i.e. = that is; e.g. = for example; viz. = namely; etc. = and so forth; vs. = versus.

·         Notes: Notes should be avoided. If unavoidable, they must be formatted as endnotes (not footnotes) and indicated in the text with Arabic numerals in parentheses (e.g., (1), (2), etc.). Notes must appear immediately after the main text and before the References, in Times New Roman, size 12

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
